How do I create my first loyalty card?

Sign up for a Ruffus account and follow the guided setup: choose your stamp count, set your reward, and add your business name and logo. The whole thing takes under 5 minutes — your QR code is ready immediately, and your NFC tap cards ship within 1–2 business days.

How do customers collect stamps?

Accepted Answer

Customers tap your NFC counter card with their phone — or open their camera and scan your QR code — then sign in or create a free account in seconds: phone number, email, or Google/Apple, no app to download. Their stamp card opens in the browser and the new stamp is added and saved automatically.

How do I display my QR code?

From Card Studio in your dashboard, download your QR code as a PNG or print it directly. Stick it on your counter, window, or table. Most merchants print a small A5 card or use a simple tabletop stand. Your NFC tap cards work the same way — place them by the register and customers tap instead of scanning.

What does Customize do in my settings?

Out of the box, your program runs on our recommended settings — stamp timing, PIN rules, expiry, and how you reach customers through referrals and reminders are all tuned and working, no setup required. Customize, in Settings, hands you ownership of those specific settings so you can tune them yourself. It’s fully reversible: switch back to recommended settings whenever you want, and your own values stay saved, so switching back to Customize later restores exactly what you had.

Can I change my reward after I launch?

Yes, you can update your reward description anytime from the card settings. Changes apply to new customers immediately. Existing customers who are mid-progress see the updated reward — so make sure any change is an upgrade, not a downgrade.

What if a customer loses their progress?

Accepted Answer

Stamps are tied to the customer's account, not their device. As long as they're signed in, their progress is safe across any phone or browser.

Can I run more than one card at once?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Create and manage up to 3 loyalty cards from the Cards page — that's the cap on every plan, enough for a main program plus a seasonal push or a VIP card. Customers who scan your QR join every active card automatically and choose which card gets the stamp at each visit. Want to reward specific products instead? Run a time-limited bonus-stamp campaign on top of any card from the Campaigns page.

Do stamps or rewards expire?

There are two separate clocks, and both are off by default. Reward expiry puts a deadline on a reward a customer has already earned — once that date passes, it can no longer be redeemed. Inactivity expiry is different: it clears a customer’s whole balance — stamps and unclaimed rewards — after a long stretch with no visit at all, and any visit resets the clock. Turn inactivity expiry on and every customer starts with a fresh full window from that day, so nobody is cleared retroactively for time that already passed. Customers get a warning email two weeks before anything clears, and now see the date right on their card and their wallet pass.

How do I switch between monthly and annual billing?

Head to Billing in your dashboard and pick the billing cadence you want. Switching to annual takes effect immediately (prorated). Switching back to monthly takes effect at the start of your next billing period.

Can I cancel anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes — no contracts, no lock-in. Cancel from Billing in your dashboard at any time. Your plan stays active until the end of the billing period, then your account is disabled. Your data is retained for 30 days after that, then permanently deleted.

Do you offer refunds?

Accepted Answer

We don't offer refunds for partial months, but if something went wrong on our end we'll always make it right. Email hello@ruffus.app and we'll sort it out.

Question 12

Can I pause my subscription for the off-season?

Accepted Answer

Yes — open Billing in your dashboard and choose to pause for the season. Billing stops immediately and nothing is invoiced while you're paused, for up to 4 months in a row; a pause is available once every 12 months and lifts on its own, or you can resume earlier in one click. While you're paused your loyalty program is paused too: customers can't join, collect stamps or redeem rewards until you resume. Everything else — members, stamps, history and your NFC tap cards — stays exactly as you left it, and pausing never asks you to send cards back.

How does reward redemption work?

When a customer has enough stamps, they tap "Claim reward" on their card. This generates a one-time redemption code they show your staff, who validate it on the Ruffus Staff Terminal — the reward is marked as redeemed and the customer's stamp count resets. If you've enabled staff PIN confirmation in Settings, staff enter your six-digit PIN as an extra step. Screenshots are not accepted; the code must be validated live.

What if a customer redeems by accident?

Reach out to us at hello@ruffus.app with the customer's name or email and the date of the redemption. We can look up the transaction and restore their stamps if it was a genuine mistake.

Question 15

Can I see a record of all redemptions?

Accepted Answer

Yes — your dashboard shows a full activity log including every stamp issued and every reward redeemed, with timestamps and the staff member or store that processed each one. You can filter by date range and export the data as a CSV.

Can I give my staff access to the terminal?

Accepted Answer

Yes. From the Staff page in your dashboard, you can add staff members by name and assign them a PIN. They use that PIN on the Staff Terminal to issue stamps and redeem rewards — they never need access to your dashboard or account settings. You can revoke a staff PIN at any time.

Can I run Ruffus across multiple stores?

One plan covers one store. Need more? Add them at $25/mo each, with no cap — every store gets its own QR posters, its own counter stations, and its own two NFC tap cards, all under one dashboard.

What analytics does Ruffus give me?

Accepted Answer

Your dashboard shows total members, stamps issued, rewards redeemed, and active vs. lapsed customers. You can see visit frequency, which days are busiest, and how many customers are close to a reward (useful for targeted campaigns). All data is exportable as CSV.

Does Ruffus work on all devices?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Ruffus works in any modern browser on iOS, Android, and desktop. Customers don't need to install anything — the card opens in Safari, Chrome, or any browser via the QR scan.

Do customers need to create an account?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Customers create a free Ruffus account the first time — phone number, email, or Google/Apple sign-in — so their stamp progress is saved securely and can't be lost if they clear their browser or switch devices. It takes just a few seconds.

Is there an offline mode?

Accepted Answer

Not currently — Ruffus requires an internet connection to verify and record stamps. This is by design: it's what makes our fraud-proof stamp verification work. We're looking into offline queuing for a future release.
